About This Item

This Book, by Pulitzer Prize winning Author, Rick Atkinson, follows the West Point Class of 1966, from their arrival at West Point in July, 1962, until their graduation in 1966. It primarily follows three graduates and the women they love through their Academy training, other Army training courses and their service in Vietnam. This Book sheds light on American involvement in Vietnam, the participation of the Class of 1966, their disillusionment with the War and with civilian life after their return. The Book also addresses the importance of West Point and the impact this institution has had on graduates and American Society. There are about 50 photos and other illustrations in three separate sections. This Book bears the signature of the Author, Rick Atkinson on the inside front cover.
