New York: Privately Printed, 1932. First Edition . Green and Gilt Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. First Edition. 4to, olive green cloth, top edge gilt, 85 pp., reproduction of Frank W. Benson's etching Long Point with tissue guard, two page map of Long Point, two page color reproduction of duck in flight at Long Point by Louis Agassiz Fuertes, b&w reproductions of several shooting registers, two page plan of the cottages and other structures, list of all the past and present (1932) owners of the cottages, joints and extremities lightly rubbed, light foxing throughout. Traces the history of this hunting club (formed in 1866) located in Port Rowan, Ontario. The Long Point Company was (is) a very exclusive hunting club of about 18 - 20 members. This work is inscribed and signed on the half-title by the author with an important association - "To / Wilton Lloyd-Smith / with the compliments of / Lewis S. Thompson." In 1932, Thompson was a member and Managing Director of the Long Point Company. Wilton Lloyd-Smith was a new member, having joined in 1931, and acquired his shares in the company from Harry Payne Whitney. This work is extraordinarily rare and signed copies owned by Long Point members almost never (if ever) appear on the open market or at auction.
