London is a difficult city to get to know, seemingly monotonous, but hiding beauty in unlikely spots; easily amused as well as easily bored; hard in its materialism, yet always genial. All these are characteristics that make London unique and renowned in all parts of the world, and Dark is a master in bringing them out. The beauty and importance of London is also enriched by the many illustrations proposed by Joseph Pennell. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally lovely with minor shelf wear only and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and the extremities. Inscribed by a previous owner to the front free endpaper.
