The London Scene: Six Essays on London Life, Virginia Woolf; introduction by Francine Prose. Published by Ecco, 2006. 12mo up to 7½" tall., 77pp with illustration. Beige boards with copper titles; mapped endpapers rough cut edges; printed on high quality paper. Both volume and unclipped jacket are in mint condition.
First published as "Six Articles on London Life" by the British edition of Good Housekeeping in a bimonthly series beginning in December 1931. The first five essays were published in one volume in 1982 by The Hogarth Press. The sixth essay, "Portrait of a Londoner," was rediscovered at the University of Sussex in 2004 and published here for the first time.
