Short introduction by Jim Speciale in both German and English. Illustrated with approximately 120 full page black and white plates First edition. Lon of New York (née Alonzo James Hanagan) moved to New York City in 1936, where during the War years he took up physique photography. Due to the legal and social mores of the period many of his photographs did not survive, "...this edition is a select sample of what did." No previous ownership marks. No spine crease. A clean, square, fresh and unmarked copy, near like new. Mild toning to extremities of white card covers. A near fine copy.
