Quarto, (approx. 6 7/8" wide by 9 3/4" tall), blue cloth spine over green boards with paper labels on top cover and spine. Top edge gilt. Former owner's bookplate on front paste-down endpaper. Top front cover corner bumpped and worn. Goldseekers taking the sea route from the east coast had to travel around Cape Horn of south American to reach California in the days before the Panama Canal.
