Pictorial endpapers; 20 full-page color plates and numerous smaller b&w and color illustrations. Edges lightly rubbed, paper over front hinge split, else a surprisingly clean, bright copy.
First edition. A wonderful collection of adventures of a tiny gnome and his interactions with the human and animal worlds. Written by Czech librarian, fairy tale theorist and author V. Tille and featuring charming full-color illustrations, this is a delightful addition to any collection of folklore and fairy tales.
