About This Item

Guben / London: F. Fechner / Joseph, Myers & Co., 1850. Original silk decorated boards, floral onlays. Faintly imprinted endpapers. 80 x 50 mm. All four volumes present. Four hand-colored frontispiece plates, and three additional hand-colored plates illustrate the "Little Tales," Volume 3 contains a frontispiece only. Each title page numbered with blind stamp "Polizei-Verwaltung zu Guben." Hand coloring is bright and fresh, onlay on Vol. 3 is not present, and the toe of the spine is chipped.  A very lovely set of tales, probably printed in Germany for the English juvenile; very good or better.
