About This Item
London: Thomas Nelson and Sons Ltd, 1930. Some tears and creasing to the edges of unclipped dustwrapper, old price stickers (1/-) on spine and front panel of same covering the original price of two shillings, some bumping to spine ends and corners of blue boards, an old water stain on back of same, original owner's name on first page, otherwise a good clean tight copy. Contains five stories by the author, all set in mediaeval Italy. The stories are: ''Madonna of the Peach Tree'', ''Ippolita of the Hills'', ''The Duchess of Nona'', ''Messer Cino and the Live Coal'' and ''The Judgement of Borsa''. Originally published in 1899, this is a much later, undated edition, but the girl on the dustcover illustration has an early 1930s look. 382pp.. Hard Cover. Good/Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
