About This Item

Aurora, NY: The Roycrofters, 1928. Toghether, fifteen octavo volumes in original tan buckram in Arts & Crafts style, each with paper spine label (but for "Little Journeys Guide Book," which has printed title to spine cloth). Faint shadows to paper labels from die-cut dustjackets (the jackets now lacking); occasional dusting and/or fading to upper edges of text blocks, but still a very pretty, well-preserved set, collecting all of Hubbard's "Little Journeys," originally issued over a period of fourteen years from ca 1894-1908. Hubbard's most sustained work, hugely popular through the turn of the 20th century (and credited with keeping the Roycroft shop alive through that period), though the contents are certainly dated to a modern reader.
