About This Item
New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1933. First edition, 1933. A trip with little Joanna on an ocean liner, where she meets youngsters from other lands. Originally included seven pages of paper dolls and costumes to cut out, this copy with the pages themselves cut out but with the dolls and costumes laid in loosely between the pages. We're not absolutely certain that all the parts and pieces are present, but there are a lot of them, and most appear very carefully cut out, with one doll absent a portion of her head. Pictorial boards with black cloth spine, small intentional oval hole in front cover (designed as a porthole) for a little face to peep out over the waves, illustrated endpapers. Some edge rubbing, mainly the edges of the rear cover, soil to top inch of front cover, good hinges, sound text block, clean pages with no names or other markings.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
