London: Blackie & Son Ltd, c1946. First published in 1937 this is an early reprint undated but circa 1946. Price on jacket is 2/6 net. Hardback. 96pp. Approx 140mm x 110mm. Usual chequered design to the boards with pictorial onlay. Decorated end papers. Dust jacket. Twelve colour plates plus black & white line drawings. Book in very good condition. Faint crease line to spine and tiny are of wear at foot of spine. Slight discolouration to spine. Very occasional slight mark internally. Dust jacket very good and unclipped. Generally lightly soiled. Very small area of loss to lower edge of spine. Slight edge wear.

Chequered boards with pictorial onlay. Grey and white pictorial endpapers. Small format. Spine and corners very slightly bumped. Some light rubbing to cover edges. Heavy foxing otherwise contents clean. Price-cut wrapper ('new' price ink stamp above cut) is a little grubby and edge rubbed. Last title listed on rear panel of wrapper is The Lord of the Rushie River.

Illustrated throughout with colour plates and black and white in-text illustrations by the author. A better than very good copy, the binding square and firm with a mild bump to the top corner of the lower board, the contents clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the lightly rubbed dustwrapper which has a few nicks and short closed tears to the edges. Not price clipped (2/6 net to the front flap).
