New York: Whittlesey House, 1945. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Very good, in very good dust jacket. SIGNED and inscribed 'To my friend Arthur Sharr with all good wishes' by the author on first free endpaper. No stated edition or number line (usually 1st printing for this publisher in the '40s). 482 p.; 21 cm. Pictorial boards, with dust jacket showing the same picture on the front panel but the author's picture and biography on the back panel. Dust jacket has wear, rubbing and chipping. Book has shelfwear to corners and all edges of pictorial boards. Age-darkening to the pageblock. Based on the life of Huey Long and the basis for the James Cagney film of the same name. Rare signed. Where possible, all books come with dust jacket in a clear protective plastic sleeve, sealed in a ziplock bag, wrapped in bubble wrap, shipped in a box.
