About This Item

Lion Adventure by Willard Price (Jonathan Cape, 1st edition 1967).

The ninth title in Willard Price's "Adventure" series featuring brothers Hal and Roger Hunt and their global quest in search of wild animals.

Dustwrapper art and illustrations throughout by Pat Marriott (1920-2002).

Hardback. Publisher's pale yellow faux-cloth with title to spine and illustration to front board; top edge of page-block stained orange-brown. In a dustwrapper priced 16 shillings to front flap, and with the usual Cape clipping to all corners. pp 191, [1], including b/w illustrations. Size: 8 x 5.5 inches approx. (204mm x 140mm).

Dustwrapper a little rubbed and worn, especially spine ends and extremities; a little dusty and marked; darkened to spine; dampstained to bottom edge of front panel and flap, with some encroachment up the flap fold; foxing/spotting visible to verso. Spine and boards a litle marked and spotted in places. Endpapers a little dusty and marked, some staining to rear endpaper; occasional mark and dustiness but generally pages clean throughout; musty.

Overall, showing some wear but otherwise a reasonably nice, clean copy – presenting well in its dustwrapper.
