About This Item
N.p.: The Limited Editions Club, 1929. Hardcover. 8vo. Quarter burgundy cloth spine with marbled paper over boards and paper label. 23pp. Near fine. A tight and handsome copy of this prospectus for the well-known fine press publisher, followed by "The First Twelve Books of The Limited Editions Club." Oddly, the half-title page subtitles this volume "Beaux Livres, Belles Lettres." Laid in is the printed LEC application form to join the Club. Boston's Merrymount Press -- the legendary D.B. Updike, that is -- printed this little beauty. Who knew that a fine press starting up at the start of the Great Depression would survive well over half a century. NEWMAN A-1 -- it's not just a steak sauce anymore!
