About This Item
Hardcover published by Grosset & Dunlap. Originally published in 1930 by William Penn & Company, this is a reprint edition. Loring titles from 1922 to 1937 were first published by William Penn, and later reprinted by Grosset starting in 1961. So even though the only date listed on the copyright page is 1930, this copy is one of the later reprint editions since it is a Grosset & Dunlap printing. The story of Bruce Harcourt, who finds a black satin slipper on the sidewalk of Fifth Avenue, who could it belong to? The dust jacket is intact, though it does have rubbing wear, a closed tear of about 1/2" at the top right edge, tear of about 1" at the bottom left. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Bright green cover boards, with the author name and title blind stamped on the spine and front cover in black. 320 pages, 5-1/4" X 7-3/4". No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Age appropriate tanning to the text pages. Green top-stain does not appear to be faded. Binding is tight. Not a library discard. Attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
