Octavo, pp. [1-8] [1] 2-295 [296: blank] + 48-page publisher's catalog dated "April 1901" inserted at rear, twelve inserted plates with illustrations by Will Owen and others, original pictorial brick red cloth, front panel stamped in black, spine panel stamped in black and gold, fore- edge rough-trimmed, bottom edge untrimmed. First edition. This collection of Jacob's seaport fiction includes a single supernatural story, "Jerry Bundler." Bleiler, The Guide to Supernatural Fiction 895. Wilson, Shadows in the Attic, p. 279. Not in Bleiler (1948; 1978). Endpapers darkened, Good copy.
