Volume I: xiv., 389 pages, engraved frontis. portrait, 11 plates. Volume II: viii., 268 pages, fold-out frontis., 22 b/w & 16 sepia plates, in-text illustrations. Volume I: Some wear to covers, losses, small splits to spine, small cracks to front hinge, some spotting to half title and frontispiece, tissue, otherwise clean. Volume II: covers, spine similar to vol. I, some minor spotting throughout. Gift inscription dated 1876 to half title of both volumes. Laid-in is a 1945 Blackwells invoice and receipt, with price at 1 guinea. A very good set. [16852]. First Edition. Brown Pictorial Cloth. Very Good. 240mm. x 160mm.. Book.
