London: R.I.L.U. Magazine for the INternational Trade Union Committee of Negro Workers, 1931. 1st ed. Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. 126p. Original cloth. 21 cm. dj. Modest cover browning around edges and on backstrip. Jacket moderately soiled and rather worn (chipped at head of backstrip, mostly split along sides of backstrip, etc.). A book about the exploitation and oppression of workers of African descent in Africa and the Western Hemisphere. Padmore, of African descent, was born in the West Indies and attended college in the United States. He was a Communist when he wrote this but abandoned Communism about 1935 while continuing his lifelong commitment to Pan Africanism. This book was also published in softcover in 1931.
