Very minor bumping to the bottom edge of the boards and spine. Illustrated with numerous plates from B/W photographs and maps in text. Illustrated dust jacket is not price clipped; minor sun fading to the spine. Signed by Thesiger on the title page, where he has also crossed out the printed version of his name. Overall, a near fine copy with a near fine dust jacket. A wonderfully well preserved and signed copy of Thesiger's autobiography. This book gives some insight into the life of a very adventurous and daring man who, as the quote from the back of the dust jacket by David Attenborough attests, was one of the greatest explorers of the 20th century. 1987
