About This Item
Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, 1978. Hardcover. Good/Very Good. Two-volume set, both appear to be 1978 printings. Second volume is a stated first edition; first does not bear edition indicator; thus, likely a married set. Both bindings are tight, sturdy, and square; textured off-white cloth boards also very good, corners sharp; gilt titling to both volumes remains bright and bold. Jacket of volume one shows a few small chips along top edge, one taped shut by previous owner, and one small tear to bottom edge of front panel. Jacket of volume two shows one quarter-inch closed tear to bottom edge of rear panel; toning of about 1/2" near turns and 1 1/2" along top edge, also to spine. Highlighting only from pages 16-26 of volume one, else both texts are clean. Ships same or next day from Dinkytown, Minneapolis, Minnesota; due to the weight of this set additional shipping charges may apply.
Synopsis
The author’s final work, presented in a one-volume edition, is a rich, challenging analysis of man’s mental activity, considered in terms of thinking, willing, and judging. Edited by Mary McCarthy; Indices.
