About This Item
Santa Monica: RoundtablePublishing, 1987. First Edition. Green cloth, gold stamped. Very Good/Very Good. At the time of publication Raymond Sarlot was partner/owner of the Marmont, and was responsible for the complete restoration of this beautiful hotel. It is now owned by Andre Barlasz Company who owns The Standard hotels. The publisher, Roundtable, was a local Southern California company at the time. The owner of Roundtable passed and at the same time was in a devastating lawsuit over the publication of a very controversial book on the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy. The lawsuit pushed the company into bankruptcy, and oblivion, a shame because they published quality books. This book, one of their best, covers the Marmont. Along with the book I'm including a folded brochure with an overview of the hotel. Laid in are 2 pages of price lists from 1993. This hotel is for the rich and the celebrities. For the rest of us, we head to Motel 6.
