London: George Routledge & Co, 1850. Hardcover. Very Good -. x, 214 p.; viii, 263, [1] p.; 17 cm. Contemporary half calf with marbled paper over board. Five spine compartments between raised bands; gilt-tooled flowers in lower three compartments. All page edges speckled red. Lives of the Successors of Mahomet is the second edition. Inscription dated 1850 on front free endpaper partially erased and then covered with a blank strip of paper (presumably by a later owner). Similar, without a date, at head of title page with the blank strip of paper covering the "The" in the title. In Very Good- Condition: lacking leather from head of spine; lacking leather spine label from second compartment; edges are rubbed; clean and tight.
