Worn to extremities, with one or two minor scrapes to covers, front outer joint rubbed and split but holding, corners slightly bumped and worn. Internally fairly bright and clean, some occasional light browning. Previous owners ink stamp to front pastedown, additional engraved title, with engraved frontispiece and nine other full-page engravings (complete as per list), the engraving of Claremont has a small tear to fore-edge. "Charlotte Augusta, Princess [Princess Charlotte Augusta of Wales] (1796-1817), was born at Carlton House, London, on 7 January 1796. She was the only child of the unhappy marriage between George IV, then Prince of Wales, and Caroline of Brunswick." (Oxford DNB). First Edition. Full Calf. Good. 8vo.
