First edition. Scarce work. With over two hundred half-tone illustrations, many of which are full-page. A complete record of the life of George V, King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, and Emperor of India, from 6th May 1910 until his death in 1936. He was succeeded by his eldest son, Edward VIII who abdicated in December of that year and was succeeded by his younger brother Albert, the father of Queen Elizabeth II, who took the regnal name George VI. With chapters on his birth and education, marriage, ascension to the throne, The Great War, and final tributes. Compiled by William J. Makin, an English journalist and author. Dated from the British Library. In the original full burgundy cloth binding. Externally, with some patchiness to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
