Apparent first printing with 10pp. of advertisements dated July, 1856, "Ticknor & Co." imprint at foot of spine, and no statement indicative of later printing. 12 mo. or small 8vo., brown cloth with gilt lettering, 356pp., frontispiece portrait and 13 wood-engraved plates. Wear to cloth, foxing, mostly to preliminaries, darkening to plates, else a tight copy in Very Good condition.
