Heavily rubbed along edges, some bumping, bowed corners, dust staining. Small dampstain on back cover, black staining on spine. Endpapers are faded, color loss. Address stamp on half-title. Pages are yellowed and have occasional fingerprint smudges. Fold-up map of India is yellowed, worn at edges and has one tear about 2 1/2 inches long near where it connects to the book. Untrimmed pages are a little ragged. The spine is broken in a few places, however all pages are securely attached and the binding is sound. Size: 8vo - over 7 3/4 in - 9 3/4 in Tall. Year: 1881.

Red covers with blind decoration on front and rear, gilt lettering on the spine, spines are rather darkened and wear at spine-ends, corners are lightly rubbed. Paper is split over both internal front hinges but binding is sound. Darkened bookplate for John Womack Wright on inside of front cover of volume I, gift note from same name on reverse of front end-paper and same name on half title. Mark in margin of page 5, Vol I, pages are otherwise clean. All required maps, including fold-out maps are present and crisp and clean. Large map of India at rear of Volume I has a short marginal tear adjacent to the pasted edge. xviii, 457, xii, 489. 2-volume set (complete). No dust jacket, as published. Quantity Available: 1.
