This two-volume set explores the life, career, and influence of Archibald Campbell Tait, who served as the Archbishop of Canterbury from 1868 to 1882. The work covers Tait's early life and education; his rise through the ranks of the Church of England, end his eventual tenure as Archbishop. 9 1/4" tall. Burgundy cloth. Cloth is creased and worn, and bindings are limp. Front hinge of Volume II is cracked. Title page of first volume shows some marks in pencil. Offered here as a serviceable reading copy.
