Philadelphia: Gebbie & Co.. 1885. Hardcover. Hardcover, no dustjacket as issued. 8vo. Dark blue boards with black tooled Art Deco motif and gilt lettering and illustration on front and spine. Lovely gilt page-edges. Book is in VG condition, with a few tiny closed tears to edges of boards. Corners of boards are bumped. There is a previous owner's address stamp on front free endpaper. Very light foxing to a few pages, otherwise interior is clean. Binding is tight. Collected humor from poetry and prose, including excerpts from Robert Burns, Lewis Carroll, Balzac, Alexander Pope, and many others, as well as from folk tales and anecdotes. With etchings illustrating the text. 400 pp. .
