Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1930. Book. Fine. Cloth. First Edition. 2 Volumes, impeial octavo, red cloth covered boards with cream colored paper spine labels. Top edges gilt, fore edges uncut. 551, 672 with indexes in both volumes. Illlustrated with frontispiece engravings with tissue guards in place. Volume I (1930) limited to 1 of 325 copies of which 300 were for sale and Volume II (1938) limited to 205 copies of which 200 were for sale. Volume I in original red paper covered slipcase with printed cream spine label. Volume II lacks the slipcase and is not numbered as called for. Both volumes are in excellent condition with solid top edge gilt, clean, tight, and having seen very little if any use. Volume I has neat prior owner signature to top corner of ffep and some slight staining to spine label, else clean and unmarked. Volume II is completely unmarked and fine. Volume I slipcase has some staining to one side and Volume II lacks the slipcase. Volume I near fine in very good slipcase and Volume II Fine. Scarce in the limited edition. An attractive set..
