London: Printed for Longman, Hurst, Rees, and Orme, 1809. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. Octavo. Pp. [xvi], 406, frontispiece folding map with hand-coloured route, tables (3 folding). Contemporary binding of half brown calf and double-marbled boards, flat back lined in gilt, gilt title direct to spine, plain taupe endpapers. Covers rubbed and scuffed, corners rubbed and rounded. Water-staining with some spotting to the prelims and end-pages, front hinge cracked between the title-page and Preface, offsetting and browning to map with 14 cm slit along one fold, offsetting and browning of map has affected the pages adjoining the map, top half of map coming loose from the binding, very occasional offsetting within text, otherwise good. Booksellers' small ticket of "B & J.F. Meehan, Export Booksellers, 32 Gay Street, Bath" to bottom edge of front pastedown.
