Atlanta: V. P. Sisson, 1887. First Edition. Wraps. Good. Printed, stitched wraps. 16 pages. Light wear and edge chips to the covers. Jackson responds to Thurman's charge that he is an unregenerate States Rights man who still defends the doctrine of secession. Thurman calls Jackson "an old crank," an "idiot," and a "drunk." Jackson says he's a man of the New South and denies he's a drunk. "I rejoice in the belief the African slavery, the only cause of serious disturbance, removed forever, such a union has been restored to the great sisterhood of States."
