Nister, 1859. First Edition. Hardcover (Printed Boards). Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Edith Cubitt. Both front and rear corners are knocked around, front cover about 1 cm (diagonal) of front cover has lifted off, although board intact. Back cover has crease marks in board, slight chips to tope edge, some overall grubbiness and a small purple stain centre. All colour plates inside and front cover printed boards are in first-rate condition, no tears or marks to illustrations (some few carry minor foxing at edges, but not in main body of plate). Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Slight foxing front/rear pages, but body of book mostly clean and unfoxed. Previous owner's inscription in ink, neat, dated 1911. Edges browned slightly. Illustrator: Edith Cubitt.
