Sprague de Camp (1907 - 2000) was an American writer of science fiction, fantasy and non-fiction. A major figure in SCI-FI during the 1930s and 1940s, over a lengthy career spanning 60 years, he wrote over 100 books, including novels and works of non-fiction. Lest Darkness Fall (1939) is an early alternate history novel that helped define the genre and remains in print after more than 70 years. Initially published in book form by Henry Holt in 1941, it has often been reprinted. The Ballantine edition of 1974 was also issued in hardcover by the Science Fiction Book Club in April 1979 and reprinted in 1996. Given the Very Fine condition of this volume, it is more likely that it is the 1996 edition than that of 1979. EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION internally & externallyl!
