About This Item

Milwaukee, Wisconsin: The Bruce Publishing Company, 1953. This First Edition (which has no later printings stated, as is customary with this publisher) is in Fine condition with a Very Good+ unclipped dust jacket. (Click on photo.) I've placed the dust jacket into an archival Brodart protective sleeve. Frederic Dunne's remarkable spiritual pilgrimage starts when, as a 20-year-old man, he came to Gethsemani, an almost unknown, neglected Cistercian monastery in the Kentucky hills. The book is bound in brown cloth covers with yellow spine lettering. The book is tightly bound, the pages, clean, bright and sparkling throughout, with no marks, stains, or tears. There is a frontis portrait of Dom Mary Fredeic Dunne when he was first elected annot in 1935. The dust jacket has some small tears and tiny edge chips.. The book measures 5 3/4 by 8 1/4 inches and includes 250 pages. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good+. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
