New York, NY, December 1, 1938., 1938.. Fine. - A printed letter on the firm's 14 inch high by 8-1/2 inch wide letterhead with the company's pictorial logo depicting a couple of foxes and a mink. Generically addressed to "Mr. Fur Shipper", Leon Hochstim Co., Inc. encourages fur suppliers to ship them furs as they will pay "highest market prices". A chart listing the prices the firm will pay for various species of "legally caught raw furs" fills two-thirds of the letter. Folded for mailing, the letter is in fine condition together with the original mailing envelope and a 3-1/8 inch high by 8-1/4 inch wide shipping tag with an attached "inside stub" printed in green & red on cream card stock. Addressed to Fred Hough, an ornithologist in Accord, NY. Extensive advertising is printed on the verso of the envelope: "Receive Hochstim honest service by shipping your raw furs and ginseng to Leon Hochstim Co., Inc. 115 West 27th Street, New York, N.Y. Top market prices; Liberal grading; Prompt returns". There is offsetting to the envelope, esle near fine.
