Arthur Rackham. 8x 10 inches (20 x 25.5 cm), green cloth with gilt lettering and illustration on front and gilt lettering on spine, gilt on top page edges. Illustrated by Arthur Rackham. 8 color plates plus numerous black and white illustrations. Previous owner's name on front free endpaper.

There are two dust jackets. Outermost jacket has blue and red lettering on spine. Inner dust jacket has some green lettering on spine and large chip at top of spine obscuring most of the word "the". Both jacket have chips and small tears. This book is scarce in dust jacket. 103 pp.

Synopsis

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a famous short story by Washington Irving that was published in 1820 in his collection, The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent. It tells the tale of Ichabod Crane, a poor school teacher who falls in love with a lovely girl in town and plans to court her despite his rival for her affection, Brom Bones.  After rumors of the Headless Horseman start, things get more complicated...
