London: Walton and Maberly, 1853. Three volume set --- Leather bound boards . Gold lined border on face of boards. Ribbed spine has gold embossed decor w/ gold titles. Vol I front board 3" crack /separation of board from spine . Content/binding very tight . Vol II has 2" Crack same as vol I .Vol III , front board has crack top to bottom along spine. Still tight. Content / Binding is very tight and extra clean in all three volumes. Minimal fox on endpapers. Volume I has pencil price front endpaper.. Hard Cover. Very Good.

Green blindstamp decorated cloth with gilt lettering on spine; Vol. I, 456 pages including index, frontispiece portrait of Niebuhr; Vol. II, 408 pages; Vol. III, 385 pages plus index; Minimal marks, Bangor Theological Seminary (printed label inside front cover indicating from the library of Roswell Dwight Hitchcock, small printed sticker on spine, remant of small card pocket inside rear cover) ; some fading of cloth of spine, light wear to top and bottom edges of spine (bottom 2 inches of spine cover of Volume I torn off but present and laid Inside front cover) ; very slight toning of pages; otherwise unmarked, clean, tight copies; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
