Published in 1970 by the renowned Italian gallerist Gianenzo Sperone, "Tracce / Traces" is Lawrence Weiner's second publication in which the artist's textual works are printed back-to-back and upside down in both English and Italian. An internally most handsome example of this exceedingly uncommon item (entry number two of the artist's books in Dieter Schwarz' "Lawrence Weiner: Books 1968-1989: Catalogue Raisonné") limited to one thousand unnumbered copies showing some light dampstaining along the spine and bottom of the boards and dust jacket.
