New York: Scribner's, 1941. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Good. Edited and with an Introduction by Edmund Wilson. Near Fine in a Good jacket, clipped, faded at the spine, a few shallow chips, multiple closed tears and creases. Blue buckram, lightly rubbed and bumped, with gilt lettering on the spine and front board. Square and firmly bound with a red top stain, bookplate inside the front board, signature on the title page. A posthumous publication of the novel Fitzgerald was writing at the time of his death. The novel is about a movie director, Stahr, and it "reveals--with a clarity and depth of understanding that no writer has previously achieved--the inner nature of the movie world, its far-reaching impact on the whole fabric of American life.

Synopsis

The Last Tycoon by F. Scott Fitzgerald is a novel about a Hollywood producer who finds himself not only struggling to find love and success in a world of cut-throats, but who is in the ultimate struggle for his own life. The Last Tycoon is Fitzgerald's final work, a novel he was working on at the time of his death.
