London: Methuen & Co.. VG. 1932. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Stated first Edition bound in blue cloth with gold spine lettering. Fi rst issue with an eight page catalog at the rear and with 932 date pri nted at the end of the catalog. 312 pages plus the catalog. A Very Goo d copy in a fair to good dust jacket. Small bumps and tiny rub marks t o the book's corners. The spine is lightly rubbed at the corners. Some light spots to the outer edges of the page block. The interior is cle an, tight, and unmarked. Rare First issue dust jacket. Jacket has a sh allow chip to the head of the spine affecting "The" in the printed tit le. The front panel has a 3cm long chip at the bottom right corner. Ch ips to the corners and along the head and base of the spine. Stain mar k along the front panel's top edge. Rubbing to the folds. Dust soiling to the spine and panels. Signed "Janet Chase/From Olaf Stapledon" on the front blank leaf. A solid signed copy with a worn but serviceable first issue dust jacket. .
