A few half-tone illus. Printed dj, fine. In 1914, the Emden terrorized Allied shipping in the Indian Ocean. The Emden was finally cornered, beached, and destroyed, by an Australian crusier off the coast of Indonesia. But the First Lieutentant and 50 German sailors managed to escape and return to Germany. . First American Edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
