Paris: Administration del Corro de Ultramar, 1877. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. Very Good. 4to 11" - 13" tall. Leon Cahun and Mariano Urrabieta provided translations for this rousing Spanish-language nautical adventure novel. Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound, internally clean, bound in an Imperial octavo hardcover format. Original publisherâs red leather binding with gilt lettering on the spine and gilt decorations on the front and back covers and spine. All edges gilt. Measures 7 3/4â x 11". 423 pp. Black-and-white plates, a map, and an index. Slight wear at the head and tail of the spine. Moderate corner and edges wear, but easily a Very Good condition copy. Front and rear covers illustrated mostly attractively in red, gilt and black, the rear cover featuring an emblazoned announcement: âPrima Ofrecida a los Suscritores del Correo de Ultramar," with floral patterns and fliers-de-lis bordering the illustrated panel. The same patterns feature at the front cover, where is featured also a sailing ship on a rocking and rolling sea. Currently no additional copies available.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
