'' Centenary gift to Mess'' William Denny & Brothers Ltd Shipbuilders, Leven ship yard, Dunbarton, for their esteemed and distinquished Chairman Sir Maurice E. Denny , BL. CBE. BSc. From John Weir ex Dunbarton and Blackwell yard London [ opened 1612 ] December 28th, 1944. '' Book measures 37x25.cm. In two parts. Collation, [12],424pp, 134 full pages plates, 5 head & tail pieces, second part [12],172,[4]pp, 11 folding plates, 3 head & tail pieces. Bound in full calf. At some time the book has been rebacked, retaining the original boards, raised bands, blind stamped tooling, gilt lettering. Boards rubbed/bumped on corners, small leather secition lacking for one corner. Generally a very good clean firm binding. Internally, some light persistan water staining, mainly to top margin, heavier in places, a few pages brittle on margins, a few margins repaired., Folding plates in second part worn on edges, one with loss of engarved area, small loss of text on last page of index in second part. Pages and plates in good condition. A nice copy.. Full Calf. Very Good. Folio.
