The first edition of this interesting monograph on swearing and language by poet Robert Graves. The first edition, with the incorrect quotation to page 76, which was corrected in the second edition.An interesting treatise on swearing and improper language by the noted poet Robert Graves, who states in the opening passage that there "has been a noticeable decline of swearing and foul language" in recent years.Graves is well remembered for his memoir about his time during World War I, titled 'Good-Bye to All That'.Undated, dated from WorldCat.Fifteen pages of adverts to the rear. In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, smart, with rubbing and a little wear to the joints and extremities. Spine is a little faded. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with scattered spots to the first and last few pages. Very Good
