(1st) Slightly smaller book, fine black cloth with embossed illustration of hills along bottom front, spine and back, gilt lettering with design very bright on spine, detailed map inside covers and adjacent end papers, 365 stiff lightly browned pages. DJ glossy white with bars of red, black and gold horizontal on top front and spine top, black, red and gilt design at bottom front, b/w photo of Djilas at top back left. DJ has tiny tear with slight wear at top front tip, light wear to front bookfold edge, light creases at top front, micronicks and slight wear along spine edges and nearby top front edge, microtear and micronick at top back edge, microtear and nick at bottom back edge next to spine, back lightly browned. Good DJ/Very Fine book.

The autobiography of the youth of the former Vice Presiden of Yugoslovia, which is also the story of a little-know land, Montenegro. Introduction and notes by William Jovanovich. Translated by Michael B. Petrovich.
