Putnam's Sons, 1884.Quarto, first edition, pp. xii, 147, four-panel frontispiece panorama, blue cloth boards with elaborate gilt, black and red decoration, all edges gilt, illustrated, with a charming gift inscription on a front blank (see photo).The author, a Vassar graduate, "tells in a pleasant conversational style the story of a summer tour through the Catskills, and relates many romantic legends connected with the mountain region," according to the Vassar Miscellany of October 1885. "The book is illustrated by numerous engravings." Artists include Joseph Lauber and Charles Volkmar.Condition of this book:Overall good and sound, significant rubbing at corners and spine ends; scattered foxing, stains to covers. Size: Quarto.
