The Folio Society, publishers, London 1953 hardcover, 5¾" x 9" (lacking jacket) Shadows to endpapers, edges worn. Silver cloth to boards, with red spine type and front graphic; red tinted top edge. Book in VERY GOOD condition The 1934 discovery at Winchester College Library of eight Arthurian manuscripts by Sir Thomas Malory of the fifteenth century (without William Caxton's alterations) led to Professor Vinaver's editing of them in 1947 as an exact transcription of the originals. This Folio edition is modernized in punctuation and spelling only. Here is the chief part of the history of Lancelot, plus an episode from Elaine, and a short account of Lancelot's part in the Quest for the Holy Grail - together the most moving love story in world literature.
