Type: Hardback Hardcover BCE Book in Very Good Condition with a Good Dust Jacket. The story opens in Nazi-occupied Europe and moves on to the American Southwest. It is a dramatic, soul-searching story that asks why are we here and why we act as we do. At the heart of the story is the relationship between a Dutch girl and an American boy who meet in a just-liberated Nazi concentration camp. Book is bound in grey cloth with a red & gilt panel on front and spine, gilt lettering. Trace wear to lower corner, no other edgewear. Top edge of text block has pale spotting and one darker spot. Tight and solid, square with sharp corners. Internals very clean and free from any markings, lightly toned. Red jacket is clean, moderate wear to extremities, spine head chipped. 461 pages. 8.5 x 5.6 inches. 1980, Harper & Row/Atheneum, New York, New York, USA
