John Milton's two poems, L'Allegro and Il Penseroso, are printed dos-a-dos, bound in dark green (looks blue in certain light) buckram with gilt lettering and marbled endpapers and marbled middle papers separating the two poems. Designed by Bruce Rogers. First edition, printed by Thistle Press in New York for the Limited Editions Club, 1954. This is one of 280 copies reserved for the Fellows of The Pierpont Morgan Library. This book is copy number F 1533, only 1780 books were printed by Thistle Press thus 1500-1780 show the F designation for Fellow of The Pierpont Library.
